Jumana Moon

Storyteller

Jumana Moon is a storyteller particularly inspired by stories from Muslim folk & sacred tradition. She grew up between Bruxelles, Lome & rural Buckinghamshire and she has a particular love of stories from islamic tradition and heritage – stories from Qura’n, hadeeth and seerah as well as folk tales from Muslim countries and communities and stories from the rich canon of devotional poetry.

Sahar Al Faifi

Campaigner

Sahar Al-Faifi is a molecular geneticist by training and community activist by passion. She focuses on power of civil society, Muslim participation & engagement and building alliances for different campaigns that include welcoming refugees, living wage, anti-racism, women’s empowerment and anti-Islamophobia. She is also a blogger participates on TV shows and debates against UKIP and loves skydiving.

Rakaya Fetuga

Writer / Spoken Word

Rakaya Fetuga is a poet & creative writer from London of Ghanaian & Nigerian heritage. Winner of the Spread the Word Poetry Prize in 2017 and the Roundhouse Poetry Slam in 2018. She has facilitated workshops around the UK & has been commissioned by the English Touring Theatre, Bloomberg and Vanity Fair. Since receiving the Royal Holloway Creative Writing Prize in 2015 and 2016 as an undergraduate, she is now doing an MA in Fiction Writing.

Fatiha is a London based comedian who appears around the country with her stand up documenting her time on the streets through to her family life. Fatiha also works on many social and humanitarian causes with her comedy, having appeared on BBC Radio London.”

Annie is the first ever female, hijabi Muslim UEFA B coach since 2007 and has faced sexism, racism & Islamophobia. Honoured in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for 2017, she was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to football coaching, she now takes on the leading role at Solihull club, appointed National Ambassador for Sporting Equals, Women in Football & Football for Peace.”

Bushra Nasir

Bushra is the 1st Muslim Head teacher of a UK State secondary school & is currently the CEO of Drapers Multi Academy Trust. She holds an Honorary Doctorate from the Uni. of East London & a Fellowship from Queen Mary College London. She was awarded Headteacher of the Year by TES & is currently on the Education Advisory Panel of the Prince’s Trust.

Umm Raiyaan reverted to Islam 18 years ago and has been involved in UK dawah for over 15 years. In 2010, she founded Solace UK, a charity that helps revert sisters who are in difficulty. She is a Trainer and Practitioner of NLP and holds a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature. She is devoted to helping women achieve their full potential and connecting with Allah.

Sabnum Dharamsi

Sabnum co-founded spiritual model of counselling, delivers & develops community services in public health, learning & education, and social work fields across multiple areas. She is a Psychotherapist and Lead Counsellor in Islamic Counselling. She works on teenage pregnancy, convened the Islamic Counselling Module for Cambridge Muslim College’s Diploma and is Chair of the Muslim Women’s Helpline.

Sahar Beg is the current Director and Founder of MindworksUK. She has over 20 years experience of working in the mental health field. Her vision is to make a difference to those who are normally unable to access mental health support due to financial difficulties, cultural or faith differences, or language difficulties. She runs training, workshops and theatre therapy.”
