Ibtihaj Muhammad is an American sabre fencer and member of the United States fencing team. She is best known for being the first Muslim woman who wears hijab to qualify for the United States Olympic Team. Since 2010 Ibtihaj currently ranks No. 2 in the US and No. 8 in the world. She is a 5-time Senior World medalist, including 2014 World Champion in the team event and a sports ambassador serving on the U.S. Department of State’s Empowering Women and Girls Through Sport Initiative.
